Martin Mitchell Campus Master Plan

Creating a Civic Campus Master Plan for the Caroline Martin Mitchell property in Downtown Naperville required the coordination, cooperation, and facilitation of the City of Naperville, the Naperville Park District, Naperville School District #203, and several other stakeholder groups, working toward a common objective – something that had never been done before as part of unified planning effort. The City, Park District, and School District retained Houseal Lavigne Associates to facilitate the process, formulate consensus, and design the Campus Master Plan for the 255-acre site. The Plan included concepts for a new high school, improved regional park facility, expanded hospital, existing cemetery, expanded and improved Naper Settlement museum campus, boys and girls scout camp, and gun club/shooting range. The plan also incorporated other civic components such as outdoor event space, community garden plots, and new campus-oriented way finding signage.
