Community Meeting Held to Review Concept Plans

A public meeting was held at Prospect School on March 14 to present concept plans to the Clarendon Hills community.  At the meeting, attendees had the opportunity to review and comment on concept plans for redevelopment of the train station site.  In addition to a new train station facility, the concept plans depict the capacity for a new parking structure, retail, restaurant and/or office uses as well as pedestrian and traffic circulation.  An interactive 3D model of the concept plan was also presented.

It is important to emphasize that at this point the plan is purely conceptual and not intended to represent a final development plan. Following the public meeting, the consultants will be considering public comment and then getting input from developers on any concerns or issues they see related to the project. Further refinement, including engineering and architectural details will then be incorporated into a final concept plan.

The plan will later be considered by the Village's Plan Commission and then the Village Board. If you were unable to attend the March 14 meeting, but would like more information on the concept plans, please contact Community Development Director Michael Brown at 630-286-5412 or mbrown@clarendonhills.us

Clarendon Hills kicks off the Train Station Area Redevelopment Project

The Village of Clarendon Hills is in the process of preparing a Train Station Area Redevelopment Plan for the Downtown. The plan will establish a vision and guide future development and redevelopment of the train station site and surrounding area. Ultimately, the purpose of this effort is to enhance Downtown Clarendon Hills as a vibrant business district.

The project area is located in the southeast corner of downtown Clarendon Hills and encompasses approximately 122,200 square feet, or 2.8 acres. The boundaries include Burlington Avenue on the north, the Prospect and Ann Street intersection on the west, Ann Street on the south, and existing apartment buildings on the east.
