Houseal Lavigne Associates is in the final stages of preparing a draft of the Village of Harwood Heights Strategic Comprehensive Plan.  The draft will be presented to the Village Board in February for comments and feedback.  Continue to visit the project website for updates.

 

The consultant is in the process of updating the Village Zoning Ordinance.  The new document will incorporate best development practices to achieve compatibility between land uses and development within the Village and O'Hare Airport.

 

The next step in the Comprehensive Plan process is a Visioning Workshop scheduled for Thursday, September 16, 2010, at the Village Hall (7300 W. Wilson) at 6:00 p.m.

Citizen participation is vital to developing the Comprehensive Plan and several opportunities have been created to get the input of residents, businesses and property owners.

The workshop will be an engaging, creative, and interactive experience designed to review, discuss, and identify conditions and potentials within the Village.  The results and feedback from the Workshop will be used in conjuction with other steps in the planning process to serve as the foundation for the preparation of plan recommendations.

 

The Existing Land Use and Infrastructure Report is now complete and is available in the Documents section of this website.  This report will provide a baseline for recommendations in the Comprehensive Plan.

The Existing Land Use and Infrastructure Mapping Report is nearly complete.  Inventorying the existing conditions of the Village provides a baseline for recommendations in the Comprehensive Plan.  Additionally, the Village will have a full set of maps, some of which have never before been created.
