Welcome to the Village of Lombard website for the Downtown Visioning Effort. The Visioning Effort is intended to serve as a guide for Downtown development policy and decision making. The resulting discussion will provide general recommendations as well as specific program actions which will be directed toward guiding development decisions for the Downtown.
A total of four visioning sessions were held during the community outreach process. Two Community At-Large Workshops were held during the first and second weeks of February along with separate Visioning Sessions for Downtown residents and Downtown business owners. The meetings were facilitated by the Village’s consultant, Houseal Lavigne Associates. Summaries of the input gained during these visioning sessions are provided in the Documents section of this website.
In addition, an online questionnaire was also available through March 1, 2009 for residents and business owners that were unable to attend the workshops. Summaries of the results of the online questionnaires are available by clicking on the Questionnaire section of this website.
The study is anticipated to take approximately three months and will be completed in April of 2009 with a presentation to the Village Board. Throughout the process, updates and information will be provided on this website to help keep you informed of our progress and any upcoming events.
