The Greater Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce gave its annual Commercial Revitalization Award (2009) to Houseal Lavigne Associates for its work on the 22^nd Street/Butterfield Road Corridor/Commercial Areas Master Plan.  The Chamber heralded HLA for how thoroughly and successfully it worked with area businesses, corporations, property owners, and agencies to create a responsive and visionary plan.  The Chamber acknowledged the Plan's specific and necessary role in guiding and positioning the corridor for economic success in the upcoming decades.

Trevor Dick, Devin Lavigne and John Houseal of Houseal Lavigne Associates will be conducting an AICP exam preparation workshop at the Upper-Midwest Planning Conference later this fall.  In addition to the full day of exam preparation, participants at the workshop will be granted complimentary access to Planning Prep, an on-line study aid assisting planners with the exam.  Planning Prep was created in 2002 by Devin Lavigne and Trevor Dick and was the recipient of the APA Illinois' Chapter Gold Award for Project, Program or Tool.  Details of the program are still in the works.
