What is Envision Fond du Lac?

Envision Fond du Lac is a visioning and strategy planning process for the greater Fond du Lac community. The project is being led by a team of local governments, businesses, institutions, and civic stakeholders in partnership with residents. A collective vision increases cooperation and communication between public and private partners and develops coordinated approaches to important regional problems. Ultimately, the Plan will answer: “what should the Fond du Lac area look like in 10-20 years and how do we get there?”

What are the contents of Envision Fond du Lac?

Upon completion, Envision Fond du Lac will contain a clear vision statement, a set of guiding principles, community goals and objectives, and an implementation strategy. An “Implementation Task Force” will be set up after adoption to carry out actions for implementation.

Who is involved in creating Envision Fond du Lac?

As a guiding framework for the community, it is critical that all of Fond du Lac’s stakeholders are involved in the development of Envision Fond du Lac. Key partners include local governments, the county government, school districts, residents, non-profits, the private sector, higher education institutions, and more.

We already have other plans. What will happen to those?

Existing plans are an important part of the planning process. Previously prepared plans and studies provide insight, understanding, and context for Envision Fond du Lac. These past plans will help inform the development of Envision Fond du Lac, and in some cases may be directly incorporated into the plan.

When will the planning process start and when will it be completed?

The initial phases have begun, with anticipated completion in Winter 2015.

How can I get involved in the process?

It is important to get involved in all of the Envision Fond du Lac activities. The Get Involved page of this website describes all the opportunities available to give your input, including public meetings, online surveys and questionnaires, and an interactive mapping tool. The News & Updates page will list meeting dates and times throughout the process as they are scheduled. Finally, materials from meetings and more information detailing the Visioning and Strategic Plan process can be found on the Documents page.
